After a recent humanitarian trip, Anne-Charlotte Gandziri decided to create a space that would help forge social cohesion among the underprivileged. She rolled up her sleeves and transformed the former grocers’ at 36 Boulevard Ney into a beautiful, clean and colorful café. In the kitchen, you’ll find Louise Boiron (ex-Perchoir by Manon Fleury) going all out with the short, unfussy menus that are entirely vegetarian: an excellent spinach velouté with an almond and parsley emulsion plus fresh hazelnuts; butternut squash gnocchi with a creamy goat cheese sauce and oyster mushrooms; and little marmalade bombolini for dessert. Our only complaint about this restaurant/art gallery/laundromat: the washing machines are running as you eat, which becomes a little intense when they enter the spin cycle. // Yves Inoveritas
