Located inside 19M, the headquarters for Chanel’s 11 artisan houses, this café isn’t just reserved for staff! On the contrary: digital nomads, art lovers and neighborhood kids come take up residence during the day at this extension of the art gallery that occupies the ground floor of a building designed by Rudy Ricciotti. But most importantly, it’s at lunchtime that a well-informed crowd enjoys the little locavore creations stitched together by Laurine Marty, a disciple of Bertrand Grébaut (Septime, Clamato, etc.). The day we went for lunch, we had: a trio of eggs mimosa that we would happily order again; eggplant roasted with ral el hanout and paired with fromage frais, plus a chickpea salad; crispy and plump fish and chips served with fat fries and a diabolically good tartare sauce for dipping… After all that, we didn’t have room for dessert – a combination of summer berries, yogurt, Breton shortbread and rosemary oil. // Kelly Slatée
