THE STORY: The German hotel group 25hours decided to open its first Parisian establishment in the very hyped up 10th arrondissement. Located across from the Gare du Nord, the building from 1860 with views of the nearby Sacré-Coeur Basilica was designed by the architecture firm Dreimeta, and the 25hours Terminal Nord has a very melting-pot feel – pink or orange walls, purple ceilings, etc. Everywhere you look, paintings and graffiti tell the story of “Local Heroes,” the immigrants and workers who make up the identity of the neighborhood, while in the bedrooms, African wax cushions and quilts, arabesque sink basins and suitcases will have you dreaming of world travel. Double rooms starting at €195 a night.

TOILETRIES: Stop the Water While Using Me shampoo, body wash and body lotion.
INTERNET: Wifi (free).
BREAKFAST: 24 euros, with coffee or tea, breads, XXXX.
MINI-BAR: Yes, with flat and sparkling waters, Fritz kola, Nymphète et Cougar fruit juice, LBF Blanche beers, sweet and savory snacks.
LITTLE LUXURY: Available in every room and sold in the lobby (€25), the “Portraits of the Gare du Nord” guidebook, compiled by Parisian historian Alex Toledano, will give you an inside look at the neighborhood’s characters.
