Admiring the sea with our feet in the sand, a glass of wine in hand and grilled fish on the table, under a sky turned red by the sun that’s about to set – we’re in love! Planted out in front of the Plage du Rohu, this May ’68-style camp (dry toilets, string lights, colorful blankets) has a caravan-kitchen and an organic local pantry. The day we went for lunch, all the following filed out: sizzling grilled marinated sardines served with fries and salad; an excellent buckwheat galette filled with ham, an egg and melted tomme cheese from the neighboring Ferme de Bellevue; a Krampouz burger made on buckwheat blinis and filled with juicy beef or vegetarian patties, herbs and melted cheese; before a comforting crepe with salty caramel drops. // M.J.-D.
