Hidden away in the middle of Paris’s Little Tokyo neighborhood, this pioneering coffee shop, with its minimalist but stylish decor, is Mecca for coffee aficionados seeking out the finest brews. Here, purist barista Nicolas Clerc prepares the very best java with the asceticism of a Shinto monk, offering up a selection of beans roasted in house: Kenyan Bomu la Matunda, Colombian Libardo Lasso, Ethiopian Hambela Wamena… made with either an Aeropress or as espresso pulled on a Marzocco – flat white, café crème, latte, etc. Pair your cup with some tantalizing homemade sweets, like the salted butter banana bread or chocolate-hazelnut brownies, or perhaps some scrambled eggs or sourdough bread with Comté cheese if you’re in the mood for something savory. // Albertine Simonet

FEELING THIRSTY? Coffees (€3-7), teas and herbal teas (€5), freshly pressed juice (€4.80).

PRICE: Savory eats €6.50 to €7.50, sweets €3.20 to €6.80.
