Owner Clément Alline didn’t exactly reinvent the wheel when it came time to choose a name for his bakery with an entirely windowed facade. After 20 years working as a photojournalist, the call of sourdough proved too much for this warm and welcoming neo-artisan, who is always multitasking in his no-frills shop (yellow walls, trestle tables, sacks of various varieties of flour, and, best of all, an abundance of freshly-shaped bread). On the shelves, you’ll find beautiful loaves of course (made with spelt, buckwheat or khorasan wheat), alongside fabulous rosemary focaccia, vegan pompe à l’huile and southern-inspired brioche buns (plain or dotted with chocolate chips) that almost look healthy! FYI, the early bird doesn’t catch the worm here: the shop only opens its doors at 11am. // Herber Martin
THE HIDDEN GEM: The multigrain bread filled with loads of fiber and joy (€13/kg).
