Puffy eyes, low spirits? You’ve come to the right place! This record shop–café, all fogged-up windows and consciously curated cassettes and vinyl, is the kind of spot you could drift into in pajamas and no one would blink. The soundtrack swings between Mac DeMarco and Ryo Fukui, setting the mood nicely, while behind the counter, Jérôme Bébert (former graphic designer and web project manager) and Marion De Pigny (ex-Myrthe cantine) handle the caffeine: beans from Lyon-based roaster Placid pulled on a La Marzocco (yes, again), with Dak (Amsterdam) on filter duty. The usual coffee-shop suspects are all present – latte, matcha, chai, hot chocolate. Skip the predictable scones with jam or the house granola with seasonal fruit and head straight for the good stuff: a moist apricot frangipane cake or a sticky toffee apple number that borders on the indecent. Savory cravings are also well covered, with a bun made using bread from Sain bakery, generously stuffed with cheddar, avocado, fried egg, spicy mayo and arugula – ou pick over the more substantial veggie quiches (roasted butternut, pesto and parmesan; or broccoli, cheddar and wholegrain mustard) and the soup of the day, like a red lentil, coconut milk and curry affair. · Anna Élisabeth
