Behind the pastel blue window display, Philip Andelman (who has done music videos for Beyoncé, Billie Eilish and Travis Scott) has fulfilled his American dream: to open up a cinematic cake shop! In this pastry shop straight out of a Wes Anderson film, Americans Beth Beji and Cassandra Choi perform for tourists, serving sweet classics from the other side of the Atlantic: well-made apple pies, brownies and blondies (though they were a little too sweet), dizzying cupcakes and spectacular layer cakes (chocolate, carrot, red velvet or rainbow) made with light buttercream icing, Swiss meringue or cream cheese icing – just like in the movies!
