Prunelle? It’s the name of Grégoire Marty’s dog (ex-Androuet and Fromageries Racines) and the name of the indie grocer’s he’s opened with his partner in Asnières, which is splashed across the windowed façade in huge green letters. Step inside, and you’ll find this charming little spot nourishing the neighborhood with a vibrant spread of locally sourced delights, like crates of seasonal fruit and vegetables (like the organic figs we scoffed as soon as we were out the door), oh-so-creamy burrata (picked from a stellar lineup of cheeses), low-intervention tipples from small producers (like cider from Verger de la Daguenèterie), as well as preserves and dips of all kinds – including Langevine cornichons from the Anjou region. And since the pair are always bubbling with ideas, they even host a monthly wine club, one Thursday a month! // Hercule Poiré
THE HIDDEN GEM: The liver saucisson from Maison Montalet (€11.50 each), produced on the border of the Aveyron, where Grégoire Marty grew up.
