A cheesemonger’s whose love (for cheese) ripens with age! Vanessa Andries went from selling wine (at Godaert & Van Beneden) to dealing cheese, opening this shop in the heart of Rixensart with Olivier Verreyt, her ex-restaurateur husband. Their kink? Raw milk creations from small producers, such as Cœur de Touraine goat’s cheese (€7.20 each) or the sheep’s milk Brin d’Amour (€47.30 per kg), and many other stinkie cheeses that get us hot and bothered, like the Trou du Cru (€5.15 each), or the spicy 1933 (€39.95 per kg). Seasonal lovers, to have and to hold, for better – charcuterie (rosette de Lyon, Corsican lonzu, Italian speck), groceries (tinned sardines, Kalios oils and tapenades, Tierenteyn mustards and pickles, La Jolie Confiture, etc.) and a few wines – or worse. You may eat the bride! //
