Meet Gòto’s little bambino: Gotino! Arianna Cavallo, Francesco La Porta and his brother Giuseppe have taken their osteria’s winning formula and given it a pocket-sized spin, this time with a vini e cicchetti vibe. Just as fashionable as the mothership, this little bacaro (Venetian watering hole) rocks crimson-red tones, harlequin-patterned tiles and touches of velvet to absorb all those Italian decibels. Here, beautifully made Italian wines flow, cocktails hit just the right note and knockout small plates come flying out the kitchen – swordfish bresaola, octopus gilda, honey and sea bass ‘nduja (you read that right!) toasts… And for the cherry on the Gotino? Once a month on Sundays, it’s panini and goto (a little glass of wine), Venice-style. · Harry Gobeur
Drank: A glass of Ex Plana, a taut skin-contact spergola from Domaine Podere Pradarolo in Emilia-Romagna (€10, mind!), and a Spritz Airone, a more aromatic and artisanal alternative to Aperol (€10).
