A few paddle strokes from Marseille’s first calanques, Xavier Toullet (a former wine merchant at Le Vin Sobre) has given life to this adorable wine shop filled with Formica furniture and loads of natural wines. Backed up on the weekends by Julie, his lawyer wife, he thrills local customers (who are more accustomed to conventional wines) with hard-to-find bottles: a silky Gard Syrah-Grenache blend from Joé Chandellier (€20), Waidan, a vinous Hérault rosé from Vincent Bonnal (€19), Terre de Vertus, a 2015 Champagne produced by Larmandier-Bernier (€70), Aqui Lou, a fruity red from Alain Allier (€12)… And as a bonus, Ardèche pale ale from the Haarddrëch brewery (€3.90 for 330 ml) or organic gin distilled by Brick Gin (€27 for 500 ml). // Gwen Jacquère

The bullet-proof bottle:
Méridional, a Languedoc Rolle-Grenache from Le Quai à Raisins (€16).
