We found paradise on earth for lactose lovers, and it’s located on Rue Paradis, in a shop with a blue facade and white lettering. Laura Mansard (who used to work in agribusiness) and Alice Pinthier (a former ad exec) followed the milky way all the way to this haven with vaulted ceilings, which feels like a modern sheepfold. Inside, they’re flooding Marseille with atypical aged cheeses. On display: Carles Roquefort, scoopable gorgonzola, bleu du Queyras… Along with a creamy Swiss kaltbach cow’s milk tomme, as tender as butter, a Lavort made with good sheep’s milk from the Cantal, or a demonic Swiss mont-vully rubbed in pinot noir. // Victoria Bout
THE HIDDEN GEM: The incredible Lou Braizou sheep’s milk tomme from the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, smoked over beech wood (€37/kg).
