NUMBER OF ROOMS: 5 rooms
CLOSED ANNUALLY: Open all year round
THE STORY: Helen and Henk Silk left the Netherlands after they fell in love with this rustic little house deep in Auvergne. There, they cleverly recycled some of the original elements (the shutters have been transformed into closet doors, the railings are made from an old headboard…), and it’s all done up in a modern Dutch style. The rooms are bright and comfortable, and the atmosphere is good—a bit like if you were vacationing with friends, without the risk of a fight breaking out… Double rooms at €85-97,5, and evening meal at €25 per person.
INTERNET: Wifi (free).
BREAKFAST: Included with croissants, bread, homemade jams, Nutella, cheese, charcuterie, soft-boiled eggs, yogurt, and every day one extra item (French toast, pancakes, gingbread…).
LITTLE LUXURY: On one of the terraces, a hot tub (Nordic bath heated by a wood fire) for a midnight bath under the starry sky (30 € per bath).
