THE STORY: Abandoned to a Landes pine grove for over ten years, this former summer camp rediscovered its 1930s luster thanks to Sylvie and Franck. The original art deco façade now gives way to a luxurious hotel with 16 bedrooms, which you access via a raised passageway with views of the forest. Expect a chill seaside ambiance (the beach is less than a kilometer away), with white walls, paneling, wooden furniture, sisal rugs, a terrace under the trees and a heated pool. Double rooms starting at €105 a night.
TOILETRIES: Omnisens soap, body wash and shampoo.
INTERNET: Wifi (free).
BREAKFAST: €14, with coffee or tea, freshly squeezed orange juice, miniature baguettes, breads, pancakes, chia seed and soy milk pudding, yogurts, cheese and charcuterie.
LITTLE LUXURY: The miniature Omnisens spa, which was set up in the summer camp’s former nurse’s office.
