THE STORY : It’s been more than fifty years since the first skiers arrived, but Avoriaz is finally getting a second hotel! Who’s taking charge? Two local couples, the Zégrirs and the Marullazes, who set up their nice geometrical chalet at 1,800 meters above sea level, in the middle of a Savoyard ski resort. What should you expect from Mil8 and its 42 bedrooms and suites decorated with neo-Alpine style by Atelier Obermant: thin panels of wood on the walls, leather headboards, portholes, loop carpet… and, as a bonus, balconies where you can admire the snowy peaks. Not to mention all the perks of a four-star hotel: a cocktail bar, a cozy lounge with a fireplace, a locavore restaurant, a fitness center, a kids’ playroom… Double rooms starting at €350 a night.

TOILETRIES : Grown Alchemist body wash, shampoo and body lotion.
