Welcome to this authentic Iberian neighborhood spot! A stone’s throw from the Saint-Ouen flea market, A Nosa Casa Galicia is a real trip with its fraternal feel and cheeky boss who’s from… Galicia, of course. Seated around one of the long tables covered in paper tablecloths, gobble up some localist gems, while taking in the gigantic insignia from the Spanish region plastered on the wall and the sound of the Galician TV playing continually in the background – in case you hadn’t fully understood where you were. A random selection: atomic anchovies from the Cantabrian Sea; classic pimientos de Padrón; an excellent pulpo a la gallega octopus salad, with tender potatoes, olive oil and loads of paprika; crispy fried miniature whiting; cheeky ham or salt cod croquettes; spicy patatas bravas; before a manchego that pairs perfectly with a slice of quince paste, and, to finish on an even sweeter note, a tarta de Santiago loaded with almonds. And if you come on the weekends, don’t miss the generous paella! // Jean Pascal
FEELING THIRSTY? We’re not leaving the Iberian Peninsula: vermouth (€3 a glass), a Galician Albariño from Martín Códax or a Monteleiva rioja (€1.50 a glass), plus Estrella Galicia beers (€1.50 to €3 for 330 ml).
PRICE: Tapas €4-12, mains €8.50 to €12, desserts €3.50, paella €13.
