Alberte’s little sister certainly has plenty to shout about! In the brick-and-wood annex run by the dream duo Inge De Moor and Phil Dewulf, beautiful bottles are matched only by knockout small plates. Once you’ve slipped through the heavy front door at the very end of an alley, all that’s left to do is huddle beneath the steel beams and colored lights, and enjoy the menu that keeps on giving: Ardèche coppa, vitello tonnato, pappardelle al ragù, sea bass crudo with shiso… And for us? Simple yet comforting sliced roast Hokkaido pumpkin glossed with salsa verde; plump North Sea mussels fired up with ‘nduja; hare pâté with punchy pickles; and Turkish eggs (poached, nestled on Greek yogurt and dusted with chili, sumac and mint) boasting an almost indecent creaminess; before ending the meal with a generous dollop of tiramisu. · Aline Flamme
