A little head’s up: come here for flavor, not for flair! Fear not if the dark, slightly garish decor takes you aback, because with just one bite, Gazan Mohammed Ishtaiwi’s cuisine will transport you far beyond these four walls. It’s a one-way ticket to Palestinian, with traditional dishes and spices straight from the homeland – and yes, everything on the menu is made from scratch, thank you very much! The best-selling falafels are no accident: incredibly crispy on the outside, beautifully tender within, and wouldn’t be complete without a serving of the incredibly moreish hummus and muhammara. Other standout delights include the chicken shawarma marinated in vibrant Palestinian spices, and the mixed grill (Palestinian kebab, lamb shish kebab, chicken shish kebab and wings). It’s the perfect spot for a quick, heavenly pit-stop before catching your train. // Aline Flamme
