The most Instagrammed burger of the year can be found inside this tiny space with unfinished, whitewashed walls that’s run by Charles Ganem and Samuel Nataf and serves a single product. Their secret? The smash burger, made on an ultra-tender potato bun sandwiched around a grilled patty (so smashed you might think an elephant had stepped on it!) with ketchup/mustard, homemade pickles and American cheese, paired with some straightforward double-fried fries. One you’ve taken your photos and wolfed it down, please keep moving, because there’s a line out the door jostling to get a table! FYI: the name wasn’t inspired by flying elephant, but rather the cool Brooklyn neighborhood called D.U.M.B.O. – or Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass. // A.A.
