La Cantine de l’Aiguillage

La Cantine de l’Aiguillage (Paris)

Back in 2004, Corinne Berthelot turned her photo studio at Frigos de Paris (a former refrigerator warehouse in Paris which became a major underground art spot in the 1980s) into an art gallery. But you needn’t be an art collector to go there, because it’s also an artsy café! Come enjoy Esteban Theuillon’s efficient market cooking at this authentic loft-like space (very high ceilings, exposed pipes, an open kitchen, a concrete terrace), like we did one lunchtime: a perfectly named œuf parfait with chanterelles, a thyme jus and Parmesan; striking cod with very fresh peas and carrots; before an almond and raspberry lava cake. // M.Z.

FEELING THIRSTY? Place your trust in Thomas: a Vaucluse rosé from Laurent Sourdon (€3 a glass), a Côtes-du-Rhône-Villages red from the Domaine des Lauribert or an Alsace-Pinot gris from the Domaine Bernard Humbrecht (€20 a bottle).

PRICE: Menu €18-22.
