The brand-new Tempero is a beautiful thing! A few years after lowering the curtain on her Station F location, French-Brazilian chef Alessandra Montagne (who also owns Nosso) relaunched her first hotspot just a few meters away from the original locale. What should you expect from this version 2.0? A luminous hybrid of a space, a cross between a bistro, an épicerie and a wine shop, all done up with plenty of wood, where lucky neighborhood execs dig into a truly delicious lunch menu: incredible raw cos lettuce that was nice and crisp, with a punchy honey mustard vinaigrette and grated Comté; impressive chicken from Milly-la-Fôret roasted in a Dutch oven, with perfectly golden skin, topped with cream and served with canjiquinha (Brazilian polenta) that defied all expectations in terms of creaminess; and to round out the meal, an upside-down crème caramel that sent us for a loop! Other worthwhile options include the snacks served all afternoon long (pão de queijo, cakes, cookies, etc.) and, of course, the épicerie products sold to go – olive oil, honey, spices… // James Patisson
