A top-notch wine aficionado in her effervescent Buvette, Camille Fourmont has transformed a former candy shop into a creamery, located just a stone’s throw from the Gare de Lyon train station. Her cheese cart is bursting with beautiful gems: wild garlic tomme from the Jura; a seasonal bûcheur vacherin covered in spruce needles from the Entremonts Valley; an herbaceous Saint-Jacques de Rambouillet covered in dried sage leaves… along with a few rare wheels of raw milk cheeses, including a Normandy gouda molded by Jan Fokker. Available by the slice, in a sandwich or as a plate, nibbled around a Formica table, the cheeses are paired with homemade preserved goods (peppers, pickled romanesco broccoli, spring onion and orange peel jam, lemon curd, etc.) and naturopathic wines (Nicolas Vauthier, Justine Loiseau and Batrick Bouju, Charlotte and Louis Pérot…). In-the-know shoppers, this place is your milky way! // Pica Bidon
The hidden gem: A Sicilian mandarin jelly (€6 for a 220-gram jar), perfect when paired with the house fontainebleau.
