Yellow walls, retro furniture, a modern Bacchanalian fresco… In his bistro/wine bar, Marc Delacourcelle (the former manager at Le Pré Verre alongside his brother, Philippe) continues unearthing quality natural and biodynamic wines, which are lovely with the Didier Junqua charcuterie or the Quatrehomme cheeses, as you wait for the prepared plates by chef Julien Pelassy. For us, the night we went: a delicious cream of parsnip soup with browned butter; tender pike quenelles topped with a lemongrass sauce; before an incredible praline cream garnished with slices of poached pear. The exciting €18 lunch menu is also worth trying – eg.: sausage and lentil terrine followed by scorpionfish bouillabaisse (with coffee and a glass of wine included). // J.F. & A.D.
FEELING THIRSTY? A Burgundy Aligoté from the Domaine Chevrot (€6.50 a glass), a blanc de blancs Champagne from Stéphane Coquillette (€11), an Alsatian Pinot noir from Albert Seltz (€39 a bottle)…
PRICE: Set menu €18 (lunch), plates €9-26.
