This Kurdish spot has been open for the past 15 years – and it’s been full every day for each of those years! A diverse crowd lines up along the stainless-steel bar, which stretches out from the pita oven near the entrance to the wood charcoal grill at the other end of the room. Why? For the famous dürüm sandwiches, made on Turkish galettes right before your eyes and filled with grilled chicken or kefta skewers, red onion, parsley, arugula, and, best of all, no fries – that would be a sin! Not to mention the other house star, the emblematic lahmacun, a kind of Middle Eastern pizza topped with ground meat, tomatoes and onions. // M.S.
FEELING THIRSTY? There’s authentic homemade ayran, a savory fermented yogurt drink (€2).
PRICE: Sandwiches €7 to €8.50.
