Once you’ve leafed through the menu at T’Xuan, you’ll better understand why “dessert pavilion” is written out on the facade of this Chinese tearoom: in addition to the five savory options available all day long (including rice with tender braised pork or wonton soup with wontons made with thin sheets of dough), the house offers up no fewer than several dozen sweet options! Suffice it to say that between the herb jellies, crepe millefeuilles, panna cottas, tapiocas and neige blanches, there’s something for every sweet tooth. The last time we went, at tea time we chose: a good matcha-flavored panna cotta, a mysterious black rice with mango and coconut milk, a copious crepe, mochi and toasted soy millefeuille, as well as a specialty that combined herbed jelly, sweet potato balls, rice and fruit. Bewildering, but delicious. // Jean Pascal

FEELING THIRSTY? It’s no surprise, but there’s tea and more tea: oolong, chrysanthemum pu’er, longan and date or osmanthus blossom and goji berry herbal infusions… (€6.60 to €12.80 a teapot).
PRICE: Sweets €4.60 to €10.80, savory options €6.80 to €13.80.
