Light wood furnishings, pastries under glass cloches, a calm and peaceful atmosphere: welcome to Ondo, a bright coffee shop run by Eunji Oh, whose authentic K-delights are Koreanizing local appetites. She’s got you covered, from iced yuja tea (a kind of lemon marmalade) to jujube lattes, plus the inevitable matcha tea… The real challenge? Deciding which drink pairs best with the adorable little sweets on display, each a tiny work of art and free from artificial flavors: classic hotteok (pancakes stuffed with brown sugar and cinnamon), chapssaltteok (a Korean-style mochi, glutinous rice cake filled with azuki bean paste) and bungeoppang – cute fish-shaped pastries. A special shout-out to the ultra-attentive and patient service. · Cléo Popina
THE HIDDEN GEM: The aforementioned jujube syrup latte (€6.50).
