THE STORY: Yves Rocher was interested in more than just affordable cosmetics; he was also the mayor of a charming village in the Morbihan, La Gacilly. And that’s where his son Jacques opened the very stylish eco hotel La Grée des Landes in 2009. In a building lined with strips of grey-toned Douglas fir wood, 28 luminous bedrooms with evanescent décor (white walls, blond wood furniture, light linen curtains, immaculate bedding, oak floors) are tucked away, each equipped with a private terrace, plus spacious common areas, a spa and a pool with a view of the valley below. The latest addition is three suites with vegetal roofs, an English garden surrounded by shale stone walls and a wood-fired stove, so you can daydream in the immense moors with their well-preserved biodiversity. Rooms from €120 to €225 a night.
TOILETRIES: Yves Rocher soap, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion.
SPA: Treatments starting at €50 for a 25-minute face mask treatment.
INTERNET: Wifi only available in the lounge (wired Internet connection in the bedrooms).
BREAKFAST: €18 for a locavore and organic buffet, with coffee or tea, viennoiseries, breads, orange juice, cereals, cheese, charcuterie, boiled eggs, etc.
LITTLE LUXURY: Happy yoga, yin stretching, aqua relaxation, body sculpt, sophrology… all kinds of activities for wellness and the “slow life.”
