THE STORY: The Île d’Yeu with its wild coastline, microclimate and typical houses… and of course, La Mission! This former Napoleonic garrison canton was cleverly reimagined by Michel Delloye and Jacques-Olivier Larant, the bosses of Les Hôteliers Impertinents, to become a true haven that bridges the gap between land and sea. In order to accomplish this feat, Pauline D’Hoop incorporated all of the island’s codes: immaculate white facades or dry stone walls, tiled roofs, colorful shutters… it’s all there! And when it comes to bedtime, the 17 bedrooms each boast their own particularities (terraces or gardens, nautical bathrooms, cushioned nooks), while the suites, which were designed as duplexes (private terrace lounges, king size mezzanine beds, cabin-style beds for the little ones), welcome in both big and small families alike, with open quilts. Not to mention the rum bar, the well-established restaurant and the perfectly exposed rooftop… Mission accomplished, if you ask us! Double rooms starting at €180 a night.
