THE STORY: Perched high up on a cliff between the Biarritz golf course and the lighthouse, overlooking the Miramar beach, the aptly named Garage once housed the classy Hôtel La Régina’s guests’ American classic cars, carefully covered and pampered in their individual boxes…. Nowadays, it’s the guests of these twenty-seven stylish bedrooms who receive special treatment. After ten months of renovations, the space shows off pure materials (concrete, solid oak), designer furniture (a custom-made iroko wood and steel piece, Ames armchairs) and sleek lines. Not to mention the suites on the top floor, with their king-sized beds, tantalizing copper bathtubs and uninterrupted views of the ocean. The ground floor is just as well designed, with a heated pool that melts into the Basque countryside from the rather rough-around-the-edges but still refined lobby, which opens onto the grounds… Double rooms starting at €155 a night.

TOILETRIES: Océopin soap, shampoo and body lotion, made on the Atlantic Coast.
BREAKFAST: Included, with three possible formulas: the “champion” (brioche, viennoiseries, gâteau basque), the “marin” (smoked trout, fresh eggs) or the “surfeur” (granola, fresh fruit), all of which include coffee or tea and fruit juice.
LITTLE LUXURY: Feeling a wave of wellness wash over you on your private terrace.
