You need it, Carline’s got it! The delightful little grocery store, run by Mathilde Bouvet (formerly of KB Coffee Roasters in Paris and Bleach) and Gautier Aupetit (founder of Aupetit Family), is positively bursting with brilliantly picked provisions: Pasta Natura gluten-free pasta, begging to be cooked al dente and tossed with a glug of Celler Masroig olive oil and a pinch of José Antonio Navarro paprika; gloriously oozy buffalo milk camembert straight from Italy’s Campania region; pâté from Tripa in Saint-Pée-sur-Nivelle; squishy Panco potato buns; a bottle of Weiss, a white from Marto Wines… And you can even park your bum at one of the tables holding court among the comestibles, for a coffee brewed from beans roasted by Azeria in nearby Anglet, a killer dark chocolate cookie sprinkled with Maldon salt flakes, a homemade scone or a slice of tarta de queso. · Rose Clince
