The pitch? A place for chic sushi and rock’n’roll maki, decked out with a comic strip name and two micro-climates: a dining room with stones and exposed rafters, where you can sit at the bar and observe Monsieur Luu make his Japanese gems in front of the undulating sheet metal wall; and another room lit up by a hundred multicolored Japanese lanterns, like a Miyazaki cartoon, plus a cool playlist to boot (Tony Joe White, Nancy & Franck Sinatra…). The day we went, our lunch included: really fresh sea bream ceviche cut into cubes with onions, cucumber, cherry tomato and cilantro; very gourmet beef tataki arranged like a rose and pimped out with piment d’Espelette; buff Green Yakuza maki with tuna tartare, avocado, arugula, mint, spinach and a spicy sauce with tobiko (flying fish roe); and for dessert, two adorable green tea and cherry blossom mochi ice creams. // D.C.

FEELING THIRSTY? Japanese teas and sakes, along with umeshu (a traditional plum wine) served on the rocks (€9), Asian-inspired cocktails (Tokyo Spritz made with vodka, umeshu, yuzu juice and lemonade, €14), plus a few good French vintages: a Languedoc red from the Domaine de la Dourbie (€8 a glass), a Pouilly-Fumé from the Domaine des Berthiers (€58 a bottle), etc.

PRICE: Sushi, maki, sashimi or chirashi assortments €24-30 (weekday lunch), maki €15-23, sushi and sashimi €6-26, dessert €5-15.
