Despite opening a second location in the 7th arrondissement in 2018, the same attention to detail and authenticity seems to reign at this spot, even though it might not initially strike you as much (mundane tiling, dark wooden furniture, a painting of galloping horses on the wall…). While some of the fragrant specialties, like the fermented carp, have disappeared from the menu, the culinary specialties from Zhejiang (a province south of Shanghai) are still present! Our lunch simply went to prove it: delicious crispy tripe that goes down easy rolled up in rice paper with julienned vegetables; century eggs crumbled over silken tofu bathed in soy sauce; a refreshing bouquet of water spinach; and to top it all off, an impressive fried bass with a melt-in-your-mouth texture covered in an incredibly spicy sauce. This place is a keeper! // V.Z.

FEELING THIRSTY? The basics: Tsingtao beer (4.80€ for 750 ml) or green tea (2€).

PRICE: À la carte 14-28€.
