A coffee shop that’s ultra-specialized in nut butters? Julien Gaucherot and Matthew Samra opened exactly that! Spreads made with carefully-sourced nuts (hazelnuts and almonds from the Lot-et-Garonne department of France, peanuts from Nicaragua) roasted in their Brussels’ workshop: savory classics like peanut, almond, hazelnut and chocolate praline butter, more unusual moka praline or creamy and delicious cinnamon roll butters (€7.90 to €14.90). And what you see is what you get! Even before tasting them, we’d fallen in love: the visual identity of the buddybuddy.co website was created by Furura, and the dual-toned coffee shop was designed by Hop Architects (Amsterdam), and they’re both utterly delightful. On the countertop, you’ll find the nut butters infused into innovative hot and cold drinks (rooibos mylk tea with peanut butter, almond butter chai or fruity buddy with raspberry purée, from €5.50 to €6.50) or indecent pastries (undercooked cookies with massive dark chocolate chunks and a hearty spoonful of hazelnut butter), plus Mok or Rush Rush coffee.
