Anna was the sole creation to survive the 2014 La Jeune Rue shipwreck of a project: a black and white tiled façade and interior from the king of the Italian design world, Paola Navone. Remodeled by the Rotunno-Justman agency, Italian is still spoken inside these walls today thanks to the Sicilian chef Giuseppe Craparotta (ex-Armani Caffè) and his accomplice Alessandro Allegri. What might you expect to see on the plates? A hearty calamari and octopus ragù to be sauced up with freshly baked bread; incredible carciofi all giudia – crisp artichoke petals and delicately tender artichoke hearts; perfectly lemony and buttery tagliolinis with smoked eel… Along with gnocchi with delicious broccoli rabe; or even a perfectly executed cotoletta alla milanese! And for the final act: an authentic panna cotta della nonna, made without gelatin and topped with an apple-pear brunoise – a truly incredible dessert that we’re still dreaming about to this day… // Bérénice Delmy
