Say goodbye to mediocre pre-game snacks before hitting the dance floor at Le Mazette riverside barge gig venue: now you just have to head down a few stairs and settle in around the central bar, perched on a Bruno Rey chair, or on the terrace along the river. Here, Johan Barre, who sharpened his skills at Le Nomad and La Librairie, sends out shared plates starting at apéro hour: divine taramasalata brushed with leek oil; exquisite mushroom and Parmesan croquettes served with a very delicious aioli; flatbread generously topped with zucchini and mimolette cheese; (a rather stingy portion of) octopus paired with slow-roasted new potatoes, preserved piquillo peppers and a flavorful beetroot ketchup…. It was impossible to choose between the dessert options: creamy chocolate mousse with tahini and puffed rice, or comforting brioche French toast with strawberries, Chantilly cream and pistachios. And to satisfy your midnight hunger pangs (starting at 11:30pm), there are exciting snacks: pastrami and cheddar sandwiches, various cheeses, corn dogs… In short, everything you need to fuel up until the break of dawn! // Maria Hamonic
