Orange is the new black, much like the color of this small spot – from the awning above its little terrace to the menu placed on the wooden counter, to the servers’ tee-shirts. The looooong line at peak hours is a pretty good sign of how great it is! Here, everything goes when it comes to udon! These big wheat flour noodles hailing from Sanuki, Japan, are served hot or cold in soups with strips of pork, duck breast or seaweed… The crowd-pleasing dishes are slurped up piping hot, and you’ll often hear a lot of Japanese being spoken around you. Plus, it’s all served with Nipponese street food classics: crispy vegetable and shrimp tempura; delicious breaded tonkatsu pork; addictive karaage fried chicken; or Japanese tamagoyaki omelets.

FEELING THIRSTY? Keep things simple: Kirin on tap (€4 for 250 ml), Lupicia teas (matcha, sencha, genmaicha or peach oolong, €3).

PRICE: Udon from €10 to €20. Small plates €3-16. Lunch menus from €16 to €31.
